Midweek Meditation: Wednesday, October 21, 2026
Dear Calvary family,

C.S. Lewis, author and theologian, once wrote, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” Clearly, as people who follow the way of Jesus, doing the right thing includes reaching out to others, serving, and doing good.
But what about when your good is met with resistance? Or what about when the doing of the Jesus-thing causes you to suffer rather than receive a reward or accolade? Does that say something about the “doing of the right and good thing?”

As we conclude our “On the Move” sermon series with a second emphasis on the third value of our vision statement, “Reaching Out”, we will consider these important questions. As you have time this week, go back and re-read 1 Peter 3:8-22. Our sermon will focus on verses 13-16, however gaining the context of this portion of Peter’s letter would be beneficial.

With the eyes of our hearts enlightened by the hope who is Jesus the Christ,
Pastor Michelle
