Midweek Meditation: Wednesday, February 11, 2026
Dear Calvary Family,
In 1 Samuel 3, we read that there was an old man, a chief priest, who was supposed to teach everyone about God. His name was Eli. And we learn about a young boy named Samuel who served in the temple of God. No one was paying attention to God, and so no one knew what God wanted to say or do. No one seemed to be seeking God. Our youth are seeking God. God still calls young people. Praise God for we have our youth group, and they are gifted and willing to serve. I have grown in knowing them and knowing God through them.
This Sunday is our youth-led Sunday. I pray all of you will come to support our youth and to listen to how God works through them. I know His Spirit is at work. Come and see.
I pray Calvary will acknowledge, encourage, and support our young people as they take leadership in our worship service. Because they are awesome. Because God is at work in them. And because they will continue to share faith when we will not. Who will encourage them if we will not?

LET’S CELEBRATE EDITH!
Our dear friend and beloved member, Edith Hallett, is turning 108 on February 22nd! We want to celebrate her and shower her with birthday love. We invite you to sign a two large card on the Love Note table when you’re here at church, but we would love for you to send her individual cards (with large print) as well. If you need her address, please contact the church office.
HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

COMMUNITY LUNCH – A NEW OUTREACH FOR EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE IN
We have started a new mission project on the second Saturday of each month and we need you to be here for this! We will be hosting lunch for members of the community who have been invited at the Blessing Boxes around town and through the local food pantries. Spaghetti will be served this Saturday, February 14, from 12pm-2pm. Chili is on the menu for Saturday, March 14, same time. We would love to have you volunteer by helping and socializing! SUPPORTING FAMILY PROMISE
Please consider supporting Family Promise in 2026 by attending the Valentine Royale Casino Night this Saturday, February 14th, 6pm- 9:30pm. All proceeds go to families struggling with housing and affordability of basic needs in our community. Sponsorships and individual tickets are now being sold @ https://familypromisehc.home.qtego.us/. The event is taking place at the CRG (Cunningham Restaurant Group) Event Center in Plainfield. Rafael Sanchez will be the host.

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
Plan to join us for our shared Ash Wednesday Service on February 18 at 7:00pm. Please note that this will not be in our sanctuary, but with our brothers and sisters at Pittsboro UMC (located at 227 E. Main St. Pittsboro).
MEN’S BREAKFAST
Our new Men’s Ministry is kicking off with a breakfast on Saturday, February 21st at 9am in Fellowship Hall. Plan to join them for hearty conversation and warm food. Contact the church office to RSVP or sign up in the hallway at the Mission table. If you’d like to help set-up or cook as well, please let us know that, too!
FEBRUARY’S MONTHLY MISSION
The Mission focus for this coming month is our Youth’s mission work. Like in years past, they have gone on Mission trips to places like Mountain T.O.P. to do service projects and share the Word. Your gifts will support their work there for this year.
LENTEN BREAKFAST SERIES
Each year, area Methodist church members meet for breakfast and move through the Lenten season together. Beginning Saturday, February 21, at 8:30am, join them at Plainfield UMC, 600 Simmons St, Plainfield, for this event. The following Saturday, February 28, plan to meet at Avon UMC, 6850 E US Hwy, Avon.
CLASSICS LUNCHEON
Plan now to attend our Valentine Luncheon on Tuesday, February 24, at noon. We’ll meet in Fellowship Hall and celebrate with Italian cuisine.
KITCHEN CLEAN-UP
With as busy as our kitchen is, we do need to do a serious clean-up from time to time, which includes organizing as well. Have a few minutes to share in that on Sunday, March 8? Come when you can and stay as long as you can. We will begin as fellowship time winds down and expect to be there until about 3:00. We’d love any amount of time you can give!
SPRING BLOOD DRIVE
