How Calvary cares for each other and our community
Calvary volunteers, along with a minister/speaker, conduct a monthly service at The Meadows on the first Sunday of each month at 2:30pm. This service includes music, scripture, and a brief message for the residents who cannot physically go to church, offering inspiration and encouragement. Carolyn Parent, Darla Franklin, and Frances Unruh presently serve this ministry. Please email Frances Unruh or call 317-892-4943 if you would like to learn more or join this group.
The Classics meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month for fellowship and a pitch-in luncheon with a guest speaker or entertainment. This group also signs and sends cards to shut-ins to let them know that they are being thought of. This effort is led by Glen and Virginia Waymire. For more information, please email Glen and Virginia or call 317-852-2825.
Brenda Susemichel and Sara Wuellner lead this ministry by preparing casseroles for the pastors/staff to take to a family or individual when they are ill, have had surgery, or any circumstance where a meal is helpful. A church email will be sent when supplies are running low to ask for volunteers to donate the necessary supplies and make the casseroles. Please email Brenda Susemichel or call 317-201-9534 if you would like to learn more.
Brenda Susemichel and Kay Bishop lead this ministry which provides a meal at Calvary for family members after a funeral or memorial service. Volunteers are needed to provide food and prepared dishes, as well as assisting with the set-up, serving, and clean-up. For more information, please contact Brenda Susemichel or call 317-201-9534.
The visitation ministers provide fellowship and comfort to shut-ins and their family members through visits, calls, and/or notes. Please email Leslie Weaver or call 317-460-1168 for additional information.
This group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 1:00-3:00pm. Yarn, needles, and patterns are supplied, with current members available to teach the art of knitting or crocheting. Projects include prayer shawls, lap blankets, and baby blankets, which are blessed by our pastors and given to people in need of comfort, as well as personal projects. If you would like more information, please email Virginia Waymire or call 317-852-2825.
Shirley Hadley leads this group to create Protestant prayer beads, which are used as a tool in your prayer life and devotions. The prayer beads assist with finding that quiet place, staying focused, and feeling connected to God. This group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 1:00pm. in the church office conference room. Prayer beads can be found in the office for anyone that wishes to use them or give them as a gift to someone in need.
