Midweek Meditation: Wednesday, April 8, 2026
Dear Calvary family,
Happy Resurrection Week!
Praise God for His mercy and grace for us all to have another worship service to worship our living God. Thank you for choosing to worship with us! Your presence, your prayers, your care and love makes Calvary a beautiful body of Christ!
Good thing Easter did not end last Sunday! Praise God that He is still alive and worthy of our praise. Do you know that Matthew didn’t end his gospel with women and angels… Yes, Jesus rose from the grave! He met the women and he met his disciples… “Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go” (Mt 28:16). And Jesus spoke the last words recorded in Matthew: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you”. So… Are we doing what we were told to do?
CNN writes: “The Artemis II mission is now headed back toward Earth, with four astronauts having soared around the far side of the moon on an unprecedented path that reached deeper into space than any human has traveled before.” I invite you all to join us on a different mission: the mission of being a disciple that makes disciples. I promise you, you will see what you have not seen before, and experience what you have not experienced before. You will be blessed because you are following the command of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has authority over the moon, the sun, and all of the universe.
Come, join us to worship, join us to be a disciple that makes disciples.
Pastor Jolita,
By the grace of God, living into what I am called to be: a disciple of Jesus.
Here’s what’s happening in the life of our Church and how you can get involved:
APRIL GIVING: THE LEBANON INDIANA UNITED METHODIST CHILDREN’S HOME
Our giving for April is very meaningful and we’d like to share a very special testimony from a couple of our members, Lois and Daryl Hoffman, who have devoted much of their time there:
“Serving at the Lebanon United Methodist Children’s Home has been one of the most meaningful parts of our lives. This is a place where children who have faced abuse, neglect, and deep trauma are given something many have never known before: safety, care, and the chance to heal. While many arrive behind in school and unsure of their future, we have seen firsthand how the Home surrounds them with support and steady encouragement.
Our journey began with a simple desire to help students believe in what comes next. Through our scholarship program, we’ve been honored to support graduates as they pursue college, vocational training, or certification programs. Watching former residents walk across graduation stages, cheering with pride, reminds us why this work matters. One student recently went on to graduate from the IU School of Nursing and now serves her community as a nurse at Community Hospital.
Sharing our love of pottery has given us another way to connect. During summer classes in the Home’s ceramic studio, we work alongside students as they shape clay into something lasting. In those moments, we see creativity, trust, and genuine care grow. This mission is not just about giving. It’s about relationships, hope restored, and the quiet joy of walking with young people as they discover their worth and their future.
We thank Calvary for your generous donations over the years to support the Home.”
