Midweek Meditation: Wednesday, January 14, 2026
Dear Calvary Family,
What is the best advice your dad gave to you? What is the best advice you would give to your son? A father advised his son: “Son, in your life, never give up on three things: eating the best food, sleeping in the most comfortable bed, and living in the finest home.” Would you agree or disagree?
This Sunday, we are continuing our sermon series on “Making Godly Men”.
I was struggling with thinking: “What can I say?” I feel like a priest who gives advice to married couples! But praise God you do not need/want my advice. God speaks with His wisdom and gives His words for man to obey. Jesus is the ultimate example for man. He is the one to listen to and to follow. After a long time thinking, I am turning to the wisest man known in the Bible… Solomon. What does Solomon want his son to know? What wisdom has he received from God that he wants to give to his son?
I am learning what wisdom is, the difference between wisdom and knowledge, and mostly how do you live wisely? I love Proverbs because it tells you what foolish men do and what wise men do. It does give clear advice that is inspired by the Holy Spirit for us all to obey.
Be wise, listen and obey. See you on Sunday!
Proverbs 1:5 “Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance.”
Pastor Jolita

NEW SERMON SERIES: MAKING GODLY MEN

NEW MEN’S MINISTRY GROUP
There will be an insert in Sunday’s bulletin to survey regarding the start-up of a new men’s ministry group and opportunities. Men are welcome to consider this and fill it in Sunday, or bring it home with you and turn it in the following week. Completed questionnaires can be dropped in the offering box or left on the office desk.
