The Retirement of Senior Pastor Todd Outcalt

A Letter from Pastor Todd

April 19, 2021

Dear Calvary Friends,

It has been my joy and privilege to serve as your lead pastor for the past 17 years—a lengthy tenure that has offered many enormous blessings to me, my family, and, I hope, to Calvary as a whole. My heart is full of gratitude and thanksgiving as I announce that I shall be retiring at year-end: December 31, 2021.

I have been so fortunate and blessed to have been your pastor for so long—nearly half of my entire pastoral ministry having been spent here in the Brownsburg community.  I will retire at year-end after 36 ½ years of pastoral ministry in the Indiana Conference, and over forty years, and nine congregations, over the length of my pastoral work in North Carolina and Indiana.  I thank you for being a part of my life and for allowing me the honor of serving you and helping to bring God’s love and grace to the forefront of our lives.

We have now eight months to say goodbye and I know God is not finished with any of us, nor the life and church we share together. Although I will be retiring from active pastoral ministry, I shall always remain in ministry and service to others and I trust that God will be taking me and my family on new ventures and new paths that we have yet to embark upon. In the coming months, I will certainly relate more about my hopes and dreams and the new phase of life that God has in store for us.

I know that my wife, Becky, and my family also wish to express their gratitude and I will be working diligently in the coming weeks to create a smooth and seamless transition for the new lead pastor (to be appointed in the months ahead).  Please accept my heartfelt thanks for these wonderful years, for your friendship, your faith, and your love—which I will forever treasure.

Blessings and Praise,

Pastor Todd
