Midweek Meditation: Wednesday, May 7, 2025
Dear Calvary Family,
1 Peter 5:8 says: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” We need to realize that all the believers of God, especially families, who choose to follow God and not the world, will have to fight for what is right. Fight for their kids, their marriages, their time, and their values, to stand for what is pleasing God.
Nehemiah saw the enemies and was ready to protect his people. Nehemiah continued to do what God was calling him to do: Rebuild a wall so they can worship their God and our God. Don’t fight with your family, fight for your family! I invite you to worship with us this Sunday to learn from Nehemiah how to fight against your enemies.
God is with you on the battlefield.

YOUTH GROUP UPDATES
Youth Group will not meet this Sunday night, May 11. On the following two Sundays, May 18 and 25, leadership training will take place for all of our teens, starting at 6:00pm. Youth Group will also celebrate the start of summer with a trip to Splash Island on June 1! RSVP to Pastor Jolita for more information! (JErbele@CalvaryUnited.org)
INFANT & TODDLER FAMILY TIME
This Saturday, May 10, from 3:00-5:00pm is our next get-together. We will have time for the infants in the nursery, the toddlers in fellowship hall, and the parents in the youth room, wrapping up with family activities together. Spread the word for this quality time! Family Time will not take place in June or July, but will resume August 9 with a guest speaker for the parents.
LEGO CAMP REGISTRATION UNDERWAY FOR PARTICIPANTS AND VOLUNTEERS
LEGO Camp is happening Monday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 23 from 8:00am until 1:00pm. We need many people to volunteer as we expect approximately 150 campers this year. Registration forms for both volunteers and campers are also available on the Mission Table in the hallway across from the office.
WEDNESDAY PRAYER TIMES
Have you considered regularly spending time with others in prayer? Our church has two prayer groups that meet on Wednesdays in the Conference Room. Women’s Prayer Warrior time is at 9:30am and Men’s Prayer Warrior time is at 6:00pm. No RSVP needed! If you have questions, please email Bill or Frances Unruh at hoosierlord@yahoo.com.
MAY MISSIONS FOCUS
Our monthly mission focus for this next month is the Mountain T.O.P. Mission team which will be heading to rural Tennessee June 22-28. We currently have 12 youth and 3 adults going! We would like to support them with our prayers and gifts as they prepare for this trip!
LEARNING ACADEMY OPENINGS
Calvary Learning Academy has a few openings in the Toddler Room (walking age), the Pre-K class, and the Kinderskills class for the 2025-2026 school year. We would love to have your families and friends join in the learning fun. Please share the word with others looking for a Christian learning environment! CLASSICS LUNCHEON
It’s a green flag for the luncheon Tuesday, May 27, at Noon in Fellowship Hall. The lunch will be themed around the Indy500 so race on in with your friends and neighbors! Bring a favorite tailgating side or dessert and $5 to help cover the cost. RSVP at the Mission table today!
