Columbarium and Memorial Garden

Calvary UMC’s Columbarium is a sacred place created for the interment of cremains.

Calvary United Methodist Church’s ministry touches their members and families in all areas of life as well as in death. Since cremation is now increasingly used as an alternative to burial, our Columbarium and Memorial Garden offer benefits to church families as well as a final resting place to honor our dearly departed.

Dedicated in autumn of 2021, our columbarium is located north of our main entrance as an outside structure. The columbarium consists of 24 niches sized to secure one or two cremains. The niche’s interior space are 12 inches high x 12 inches deep x 11 inches wide. Niche cover plates will be engraved with name(s) and birth & death dates.

What are the benefits?

A columbarium on church grounds allows our members to preserve a connection with the church in death as well as in life. We have provided a peaceful place for our church families and friends. Interment of ashes is perfect for loved ones who do not want their ashes scattered elsewhere or displayed in the home. A columbarium answers economic, theological and ecological questions for many while making an informed decision.

What are the costs?

The cost for right of interment of ashes using a niche is $2,500 and will hold one or two cremains. This price includes all engraving.
